The building which now houses the Greater Portmore Baptist on lands at
Congreve Park, located along the Hellshire Main Road, Greater Portmore, was
started in September 2003.

Building Development

The Church moved into the building on August 1, 2006, which had no bathroom
or storage facilities. Significant improvement has been done to the Vestry.
Bathroom facilities have been installed, along with storage space.

There is still a great need for other building material items in order for the
Sanctuary to be completed.

There is need for:

  • Eight (8) doors
  • Windows consisting of operable louvres/jams and fixed windows.
  • Tiles
  • Four (4) toilets
  • Electrical wiring
  • Basin amenities
  • Sound room equipment
  • Gazebo like structure to house children for children’s services.

It is estimated 15 million Jamaican dollars is needed to complete the sanctuary.

Our aim is to accomplish the following in terms of building development:

– Establishing parking spaces
– Raising funds to install windows and doors
– Constructing Gazebo for the Children’s Services
– Dedicating a bathroom to females
After the above:
– Purchasing cement and sand to render walls
– Painting the walls
– Tiling the floor
